MAC Mineralized Skinfish Powder in Soft & Gentle Review & Swatches

There is no denying that this MAC Mineralized Skinfinish aka Highlighter in Soft & Gentle is one of the best highlighting powders on the market at the moment.

Soft & Gentle is a beautiful smooth powder which looks very shimmery in the pan but when applied to the face it turns into this beautiful buttery soft champagne colour with just the right amount of shimmer and sheen.

The highlighter is very pigmented and little goes a long way! It looks beautiful applied to the top of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and a small amount on the forehead and the top lip. I also love using this in the centre of my eyelid to make my eyes appear brighter (hello non sleeping kids).

I love using this when I wear a matte foundation like my Estee Lauder Double Wear or the Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk foundation. Those foundation work well at staying matte all day and staying on my face but it doesn't necessarily mean that I want to have a matte face all the time.

Overall, I'm really impressed with this highlighter for it's many uses and such beautiful colour payoff.

Have you tried this? What do you think of it?

I'm still around!

Things have been rather quiet around here lately! I wish I could tell you all that I've been working on something new and exciting, but unfortunately that isn't the case. We have had a household full of sicknesses starting from my son, then my daughter, then me, then all 3 of us together! It's save to say that I'm already over all these germs and winter hasn't even started yet. Add onto that housework, work, school holiday catch ups with friends  and Easter and you have one busy mummy on zero energy.

Things are looking up in the health department for us (knock on wood) and school holidays are over so we should be back to our normal activities which means more time for writing, photo taking and researching.

I've also been wearing minimal makeup lately. My skin has become very sensitive as soon as I put makeup on which I can only put down to our sicknesses and have been giving my skin a little break from makeup lately. I can already tell a difference and my skin seems to be glowing that little bit more.

On a happier note, we enjoyed the school holidays a lot! We had lots of playdates with our favourite friends who started school this year, we went to Luna Park and I unleashed my inner child (how much fun is it). We also went to the Golden Ridge Animal Farm because my little boy really wanted to milk a cow. Yes you read right! He must have seen it on one of his tv shows that he likes to watch and was begging us for weeks to milk a cow. Both the kids had an amazing time at the farm and the people running the farm are friendly and helpful and love kids.

March 2015 Favourites

I've only just realised that we were in April and thought I better get onto my March favourites. Better late than never I say. In March I got to try out a few new products. Some I fell in love with and others I didn't.

Let's get onto the favourites

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
I'm still a little undecided about this foundation. Some days I love it, other days I hate it. I don't know what it is, but I have used it a fair bit this month and needed to include it in my favourites. You can find a full review on it here.

MAC Ultimate Lipstick in Marque
This lipstick is absolutely amazing. It has been living in my handbag and is a perfect nude colour to just apply. It's also extremely long lasting. You can find the review here.

Rimmel London Apocalips in 206 Atomic Rose
OMG! This little beauty is AMAZING! I wasn't a fan of the original apocalips, but this matte formula is great. It's non drying, the colour is absolutely beautiful and perfect to go from day to night. Stay tuned for a review.

MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Blush in Warm Soul
This is that perfect everyday blush that goes with everything. It's a natural colour with a hint of sheen therefore it's easy to apply and wear.

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser
I switched up my daily moisturiser this month. My skin seems to be a little bit more dry when the temperature outside drops and I've been wanting to try this for ages. So far so good.

And I also have a few none beauty favourites this month also and thought I'd share them with you.

Book - Mum on the run by Fiona Gibson
Love this book. It's the second time I've read it and it's such and easy read.

Ultrasonic Vaporiser
Between me and the kids we've been sick for over a week now and this little gem is a lifesaver. It works so much better than those big Vicks vaporisers that you can buy from the chemist, it's quiet, it's got a nightlight option and I can definitely tell a difference when we've had that on.

What have been some of your favourites this month?
